The Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York City has reopened after eight years, following extensive remodeling. This historic luxury hotel, located in Midtown Manhattan, has hosted various world leaders, including former South Korean presidents Park Chung-hee, Kim Dae-jung, Roh Moo-hyun, and Park Geun-hye. Originally built during the Great Depression in 1931, the hotel was once the tallest in the world. After being acquired by China's Anbang Insurance Group in 2014 for $1.95 billion, remodeling began in 2017. The hotel now features fewer rooms and luxury apartments, with starting rates of $1,500 per night. Despite ownership changes, Hilton continues to operate the hotel.
