This time I went to Gangnam Myeongmok Eye Clinic for SMILE Pro nearsightedness laser surgery. From the exam to the end of the procedure, it took about five hours. The clinic felt more spacious than I expected, and the waiting process was pretty smooth too. After the surgery my vision was extremely blurry for a while, but by the next afternoon my eyesight had recovered surprisingly well. Even though I need to keep using artificial tears, it hasn’t affected getting around or taking the subway, and overall the recovery has been smoother than I expected.

It was my first time trying an exfoliating scrub, so I asked them to go gentle, but so much dead skin came off lol. The massage and shampoo felt amazing too, and it really took the fatigue away! The powder room hair dryer was a Dyson, and they even took a Polaroid for me on the way out—hospitality is a perfect 10! I want to go again!

After traveling to Korea many times, I’ve become less interested in shopping, and I started wanting to do more “experiences,” so this time I tried a royal court tea-and-sweets experience. They explain the sweets to you. (It depends on the staff member, but there are explanations in English. There are also staff who can speak Japanese.) You can eat crispy yakgwa that’s a bit different from the sticky yakgwa you’d buy at a mart, and you can also have sweets made with figs and persimmons. The chrysanthemum tea before eating and the signature tea were both really delicious, and partway through you can even watch a dance like the kind performed in front of the king in historical dramas. For seating, if you don’t have any physical issues, choose the floor seating. I picked a table seat and regretted it (lol). It was a very worthwhile experience.
