Insooni's Fusion of Korean Traditional Folk and Pop Music Captivates Audience at Festival

Renowned Korean singer Insooni teamed up with traditional folk singer Yoo Ji-sook at the '2025 Yeowoorak Festival' held at the National Theater in Seoul. The duo performed delectable renditions of Seo-do Minyo (traditional songs from the Hwanghae and Pyeongan provinces) like 'Sareum Taryeong' and 'Susim-ga', blending the soulfulness of folk with modern pop elements. Insooni's interpretation of 'Sareum Taryeong', a melancholic tune about longing, was transformed into an upbeat version, making the audience sway with enthusiasm. Their surprising synergy impressed the artistic director Lee Hee-moon, who praised their chemistry. The festival continues with diverse performances until the 26th of this month.
