Starting on the 20th, Dong-gu (a district in Busan) launched an innovative initiative called 'Kkirira-men', where anyone can enjoy a free meal to combat social isolation. 'Kkirira-men' combines a dialect word 'kirida' meaning 'to boil', and 'kkiri' meaning 'group', signifying gathering together. Located near the Green Umbrella Busan Community Center, it operates Mon-Fri, 10 AM-5 PM. Visitors can cook and eat ramen here, serving as a communal space where people engage in conversations. The center encourages connections among individuals living alone through the familiar and comforting meal of ramen. The project is supported by contributions from Dong-gu's local taxes, aiming for wider implementation across other regions, encouraging more firms and communities to participate.
