C Makgeolli, a brewery located in Yangpyeong, Korea, has launched a new product called 'Geonbae.' Known for its innovative makgeolli (Korean rice wine) that utilizes various domestic ingredients, C Makgeolli is often referred to as the creator of 'rainbow makgeolli' due to its diverse colors and flavors. 'Geonbae' is a more casual offering compared to the original dry-tasting C Makgeolli, featuring a subtle sweetness and light finish. It is made using Chamdream rice from Yangpyeong, along with raisins from Campbell Early grapes grown in Unak Mountain, Gapyeong, and pear juice from Yangpyeong. The alcohol content is 7%, slightly lower than the usual 10-12% found in other C Makgeolli products. Priced at approximately 7,000 KRW per bottle, it will be available in major retail outlets across Korea starting in July. 'Geonbae' is named after combining the words for 'raisin' (geon) and 'pear' (bae) from its ingredients.
