Korean company hy on the 26th launched 'Fermented Nokyong G Premium,' a dual-form supplement combining deer antler (nokyong) tablets and fermented red ginseng liquid. The key ingredient is a 'nokyong lactic-acid bacteria fermented powder' made by fermenting deer antler with hy's probiotic strain L. curvatus HY7602, a formulation recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for helping maintain muscle strength that can decrease with aging. The red ginseng component uses a domestically grown six-year-old ginseng fermented with bifidobacteria ('hy fermented red ginseng concentrate'). The product also includes 19 supporting herbal ingredients such as sansuyu (cornus fruit), balloon flower (doraji), peony, dried citrus peel (jinpi), and poria (bokryeong). The 'G' in the name refers to gangliosides (a key active compound in deer antler) and 'gift.' hy says the launch expands its health-food portfolio from fermented dairy and probiotics into functional materials like nokyong and ginseng, applying its proprietary fermentation technology from ingredient development to productization.
