Sierra Designs Enters China with TopSports Partnership, Opens First Shanghai Store

U.S. outdoor brand Sierra Designs has signed a strategic partnership with Chinese sports retailer TopSports to expand across mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau. TopSports (a major partner of brands like Nike and Adidas) will manage local sales, distribution, and marketing while Sierra Designs supplies products and brand assets; Highlight Brands will apply its Korea-based brand management experience. The first offline store will open in a prime Shanghai location in the second half of this year, with full product line introductions planned for H2 2026 and further store and online expansion afterward. The company will lead with its “Half Dome lightweight down” (a quilted down jacket inspired by Half Dome in Yosemite National Park) as a strategic product. Sierra Designs, founded in Richmond, California in 1965, sells apparel and outdoor gear globally; Highlight Brands aims to make China a key hub for the brand’s international growth and technical-wear focus.
