Gangwon Province and Goseong County signed an investment agreement with Haesolia Country Club to develop the Haesolia tourism complex in Goseong’s Geojin-eup Banam-ri area. The company will invest 500 billion KRW from 2026–2035, creating about 1,272 new jobs. The 740,000-pyeong (pyeong: Korean unit of area) site will include a 27-hole golf course, about 980 lodging units, a botanical garden and other mixed-use tourist facilities. Local and provincial governments pledged administrative support to streamline permits, link the project with existing attractions, and boost local spending and resident income through cooperative measures. Officials say the project aims to transform northern Goseong into a year-round destination and establish Haesolia as a major tourism hub.
