Kumho Resort has launched “Green Loop 2.0,” an upcycling campaign that transforms used bedding from all its locations into recycled felt tissue cases in partnership with climate-tech startup ‘Uisikjuui’ (a sustainability textile startup). Using over 90% recycled fibers, the initiative builds on last year’s program that created storage boxes and cut about 1.36 tons of greenhouse gas emissions — roughly equal to the annual CO2 absorption of 200 pine trees. Kumho has signed an MOU to process over 400 kg of discarded bedding annually into practical products, reducing carbon and water use while promoting resource circulation. To promote the campaign, the resort is offering an “ESG room package” with up to 30% discounts (sales periods on LotteON and Tripvitos) for stays from April 20 to May 31; the first 300 guests checking in from April 1 will receive a recycled felt tissue case. Kumho says it aims to make resource circulation and “sustainable rest” a lasting part of its ESG activities.
