K-Musical 60 Years and DIMF 20 Years Marked with Exhibition and Policy Forum

An exhibition and policy forum commemorating 60 years of Korean musical theatre and the 20th anniversary of the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) will be held at the National Assembly building on May 4–5. The exhibition, titled "On Stage: K-Musical," displays visual materials tracing the growth of musical theatre from performing art to cultural pride and future industry. A policy forum follows the opening, featuring presentations by musical critic Choi Seung-yeon on the history and development of Korean musicals and Professor Won Jong-won on DIMF’s history and future plans. Panelists include leaders from the Korean Musical Association, DIMF organizers, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, who will discuss concrete support and policy measures to boost both artistic and industrial value. Hosts are Assemblyman Kim Seung-soo, the Korean Musical Association, and DIMF, with sponsorship from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Daegu city.
