Flutist Yoo Chae-yeon, principal flute (permanent principal) of the Hamburg Philharmonic State Opera Orchestra in Germany, will give a recital on March 21 at Seoul Arts Center's IBK Chamber Hall. A winner of top prizes including the 2019 Prague Spring International Music Competition and the Vienna New Year Concert woodwind category, Yoo is noted for continuing the line of Korean flutists holding leading positions in world-class orchestras — following figures like Cho Sung-hyun and Kim Yu-bin. Trained at the Berlin University of the Arts and a former member of the Bavarian State Orchestra’s Hermann-Levi Academy, she was appointed principal flute of the Hamburg orchestra in 2024 and has served as permanent principal since last year. Her recital program ranges from Impressionist works by Debussy and Ravel to contemporary pieces by Saint-Jean and Karg-Elert and lyrical works by Reinecke, showcasing ensemble balance, refined solo expression, and orchestral experience. Pianist Ahn Eun-yoo, active on German and European stages, will accompany her. (IBK기업은행챔버홀: IBK Corporate Bank Chamber Hall)
