Seong Hee-seung’s solo exhibition “Eternal Becoming” at Hakgojae (a gallery) fills a traditional hanok space in Samcheong-ro with layered, star-like paintings. Using countless overlapping brushstrokes applied over many years, Seong treats painting as a process of becoming rather than a finished depiction. Works often list both start and completion years—some spanning decades—emphasizing accumulation, repeated gestures, and traces of time. The star motifs emerge unintentionally from triangular patterns or blank spaces, offering viewers moments of light, hope, and consolation. The show runs through Feb. 7.
