The 14th Seoul Art Show closed successfully on December 28 after five days at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul, drawing tens of thousands of visitors during the Christmas season. Under the slogan “Art for All,” the fair featured over 150 domestic and international galleries and a wide range of genres—painting, sculpture, installation, media art, and digital art—highlighting current trends and possibilities in Korean contemporary art. Curated exhibitions, including the flagship show “The Originality of Korean Art,” presented works by influential figures such as Kim Whanki, Lee Jung-seop, Nam June Paik, Lee Ufan, and Kim Ku-rim, tracing continuities in Korea’s artistic identity. Special programs explored monochrome painting (dansookhwa) and a Korea–Japan exchange exhibition marking 60 years of normalized relations. The fair went beyond commercial transactions with curated projects, public-minded initiatives, and a DRX–Green Umbrella Child Fund (Chorokwoosan Foundation) donation campaign that offered sponsored gifts to participants. Sculpture gardens and diverse gallery booths showcased both emerging and mid-career artists, reinforcing the show’s goal to make art accessible to all. Organizers said the event seeks sustainable partnerships between art and business and will continue distinctive programming to connect art with broader society.
