Mobile Pet Checkups Bring Stress-Free Care to Korean Doorsteps

A Korean startup, Felz, operates ‘Petting’—the nation’s only mobile pet health-check van—bringing veterinarians and technicians to owners’ homes. The converted IVECO vehicle carries ultrasound, digital stethoscopes, centrifuges and other devices to perform 60–70 tests in a calm environment with catnip (캣닙) pots, dimmable lights and adhesive blankets to reduce stress. The service clusters local bookings so the van visits neighborhoods; each exam takes about 20–30 minutes and a personalized report is sent two weeks later. Since launching under a government sandbox, Petting performed 350 checks and has over 15,000 pets waiting. Felz partners with pet-food and supplement brands (including Nongshim’s in-house venture) to recommend products based on results and plans nationwide expansion and more vans. The model aims to improve preventive veterinary care and reduce hospital-trauma-related avoidance of checks.
