Brothers and pianists Lee Hyuk and Lee Hyo, who made waves by both reaching Round 3 of the 2025 Chopin Competition, will appear on two major domestic stages next year. They will first perform at Seoul Arts Center’s 2026 New Year’s Concert on January 7, playing Bach’s Concerto for Two Pianos in C minor BWV 1062 (an arrangement of the Double Violin Concerto BWV 1043). The program, conducted by Hong Seok-won with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, includes K-pop group Demon Hunters’ OSTs “Golden” and “Soda Pop,” a performance with violinist Lim Ji-young of Saint-Saëns’ “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso” Op.28, and choral pieces by Yun Hak-jun and Woo Hyo-won with the National Chorus and youth singers. The brothers will return to Seoul Arts Center on May 28 for the KBS Symphony Orchestra’s 826th regular concert to perform Poulenc’s Concerto for Two Pianos in D minor, FP 61 (premiered by Poulenc in Venice in 1932 and noted for borrowing elements from Ravel and Mozart). The evening will also feature Mahler’s Symphony No.6 in A minor “Tragic.”
