South Korea is on track for a record near 20 million foreign visitors in 2025 thanks to systematic K-tourism marketing by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). Through expanded inbound marketing support and 307 on-site consulting sessions across six regions, the KTO helped 463 industry participants — from travel agencies and local tourism organizations to wellness, beauty, accommodation and cultural content providers — improve overseas promotion. Programs included practical workshops, platform training, expert talks (e.g., Trip.com, KKday), and one-on-one consultations. New tour products were developed (e.g., routes featuring Jinju Namgang Lantern Festival and Hadong Skywalk), and partnerships with global OTAs were formed. Regional promotion efforts targeted premium European markets through trade shows like WTM London and ILTM France, and medical-wellness and cultural experiences (such as a Taekwondo experience and hanbok & gayageum workshops) secured business leads in Southeast Asia. Abroad, K-tourism staged 139 events — large national booths and standalone roadshows — drawing tens of thousands per event in markets including Indonesia, Greater China, Japan, Southeast Asia, the US and Europe. KTO says these tailored, on-the-ground efforts helped broaden Korea’s tourism offerings and substantially boosted inbound numbers.
