The 12th Edaily Culture Awards, regarded as South Korea’s leading performing arts prizes, will be held on Dec. 2 at the Sejong Center Grand Theater in Seoul. The ceremony recognizes excellence across six categories—play, classical, dance, gugak (traditional Korean music), musical, and concert—selecting one of the six top winners as the overall grand prize. Winners this year include the play “No One Wants to Do That These Days, Yutnori” (yutnori is a traditional Korean board-and-throwing game), “Classic Revolution 2025” (classical), “What I Saw in the Water” (contemporary dance), “Simcheong” (gugak), “The Great Gatsby” (musical), and Jannabi’s concert “All Boys and Girls 2125.” Lifetime Achievement goes to producer Song Seung-hwan and the Frontier Award to choreographer Choi Ho-jong. Celebrities and arts figures such as Chaeshira, Park Hae-soo, and Park Cheon-hyu will appear as presenters, and a special stage will celebrate past Tony-winning Korean creators. The grand prize is decided by combined jury, online voting, and organizers’ scores and includes the Minister of Culture’s award. Tickets are available via TicketLink and Sejong Ticket.
