South Korea’s 2025/26 ski season has arrived early as major resorts including Mona Yongpyong, Phoenix Snowpark, High1 Resort, and Gonjiam Resort opened slopes ahead of last year. Mona Yongpyong opened on Nov. 21, initially releasing a pink (beginner–intermediate) slope and planning to open all 28 slopes gradually; it will host family programs, a Christmas musical gala, busking, fireworks, and the long-running foreigner ski festival. Phoenix Snowpark, celebrating its 30th year, also opened on Nov. 21 with opening events and prize promotions, having advanced its opening by eight days due to cold weather. High1 Resort began snowmaking preparations earlier than usual and plans a Nov. 28 opening, using a tailored snowmaking system to secure stable snow conditions. Gonjiam Resort, about 40 minutes from Seoul, will open in early December with wide, beginner-friendly “panorama” slopes, expanded early-morning hours, time-based lift passes, capped slope occupancy, and family facilities such as sled runs, a family spa, and bowling. Resorts emphasize safety, improved facilities, and new events to attract skiers and families this season.
