Ski Season Kicks Off in Gangwon, Resorts Busy with Weekend Visitors

Ski resorts in Gangwon Province opened for the winter season and drew visitors nationwide. Mona Yongpyong Resort and Pyeongchang Phoenix Park began operations on November 21; Mona Yongpyong reported about 4,700 visitors over the weekend (Nov 22–23), with Phoenix Park seeing similar numbers. Skiers and snowboarders enjoyed the snowy slopes, and nearby equipment rental shops and restaurants benefited from the influx of tourists.
