Despite a tough fashion market, South Korea’s top two K-athleisure brands, Andar and Xexymix, reported record third–fourth quarter sales as consumers embrace clothing that blends everyday wear and exercise. Andar’s Q3–Q4 revenue rose 7% year-on-year to 77.4 billion won, helped by expanding from leggings into wide pants and joggers; women’s wide pants sales jumped over 80%. Its overseas moves—including entry into the U.S. and a third Singapore store—raised costs and slightly reduced operating profit, but cumulative sales hit an all-time high of 213.2 billion won. Xexymix posted 69.9 billion won in Q3–Q4 revenue (up 2.4%) and operating profit of 6.1 billion won (up 26%). Its running line “RX” nearly doubled year-to-date sales to 12.4 billion won, and Japan sales grew 48% after expanding channels and localized marketing. Industry observers say the blurring line between workout and daily wear and rising interest in “K-athleisure” overseas (notably Japan and Southeast Asia) helped both brands, which plan further overseas expansion and product strengthening into Q4.
