South Korea’s Korea Tourism Organization has named 15 outstanding public campsites across 14 provinces and public agencies, selected for family/child-friendliness, eco-friendliness, accessibility for mobility-impaired visitors, and pet-friendliness. Highlights include: Chomakgol Ecological Park Neutinamu Campground (Gunpo, Gyeonggi) — an urban site offering frog (maengkkongi) ecology experiences and terraced rice farming, with electric carts for elderly and disabled visitors; Deoksin Campground (Namhae, South Gyeongsang) — a former elementary school converted into a nostalgia classroom, upcycled playground and solar parking, preserving natural terrain; Naejangho Campground (Jeongeup, North Jeolla) — features barrier-free caravans and ramps for full restroom/shower access; Gangcheon Island Campground (Yeoju, Gyeonggi) — allows pets throughout the park, with wide trails and healing programs for owners and dogs. The Korea Tourism Organization plans ongoing promotion through the GoCamping website (gocamping.or.kr) and events to spread safe, sustainable camping culture.
