Gangnam District (Seoul) has launched the country's first 'Hygiene Keepers' program to monitor sanitation at delivery-only restaurants, which lack dining space and can be hygiene blind spots. Of Seoul’s districts, Gangnam has the most delivery-only outlets (156). The district appointed 20 monitors from delivery workers and residents to conduct visual checks and use body cameras at pickup and delivery sites to inspect kitchens, packaging, and transport. The initiative follows diagnostic consulting and a full hygiene survey done in September–October. Gangnam officials say the public-private monitoring system will expand proactive hygiene management to ensure safer dining for residents.
