On the 28th, the California Tourism Board hosted “California X Seoul: Flavors on the Road” at Huigyeomjae, a cultural hanok space in Bukchon, linking the event to Seoul Gourmet Week. As part of the board’s global “Playful Journeys” road‑trip campaign, around 100 industry guests—including airlines, travel agencies, and influencers—gathered to celebrate shared food culture and travel inspiration. Highlights included a 4‑Hands Dining collaboration between California’s Allen (Chef Seoh Hyun‑min) and Seoul’s modern Korean restaurant Soseol Hannam (Chef Eom Tae‑cheol), featuring creative courses that blended California ingredients (e.g., smoked salmon and avocado) with Seoul’s seasonal flavors (e.g., gopchang‑kim yukhoe bibimbap). The California Wine Association offered paired tastings, and a “Scroop & Sip” program showcased wine and ice cream pairings.
