Hadong County in South Gyeongsang will host the 2025 Hadong Star Flavor Festival from next month’s 7th for three days at Hadong Songnim Park. Now in its second year, the event centers on 100 distinctive local dishes and improved visitor services. Featured foods include Seomjingang jaechupguk (river clam soup) popularized by the drama “Tyrant’s Chef,” traditional farmers’ clear chicken soup called tajakguk, and creative items like pine-needle papillote with trout, Hadong seasonal country bread (campagne), and a reinvented clam dish. Chefs will present special menus in four food-show sessions at the “StarMuks Open Kitchen,” and three tea ceremonies (dadohoe) highlighting Hadong’s tea culture will be available by reservation. The Hadong Market (Hadong Ssi-jang) will showcase specialties from 13 townships and seasonal produce for sale. Family activities include pizza-making, sweet potato mousse cooking, barefoot walking, and a Seomjingang reading party. Officials say upgrades address last year’s shortcomings to make the festival a memorable local culinary experience.
