The 2025 Bonggye Hanwoo Bulgogi Festival in Ulju County, Ulsan, ran from Oct 24–26 and drew about 60,000 attendees. Organized by the festival committee with county support, the event promoted local hanwoo (Korean native beef) from the nation’s only hanwoo bulgogi special zone in Dudong-myeon, Bonggye-ri. Highlights included concerts, 80s–90s performance stages, hanwoo quizzes and auctions, karaoke, retro music rooms, and arm-wrestling contests. Cultural shows, local singer competitions, hands-on booths (making hanwoo burgers and calf keyrings), wine stalls, flea markets, food trucks, and photo zones catered to families. Fresh female hanwoo cuts were sold at reasonable prices and proved very popular. Organizers hope the festival will boost the local hanwoo industry and the regional economy while preserving community tradition and identity.
