On May 15th and 16th, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra will perform '2025 Seoul Philharmonic Debussy and Ravel' at the Seoul Arts Center Concert Hall. Led by conductor Hugh Wolff, this event showcases the essence of French music featuring acclaimed violinist Alena Baeva. The concert begins with Qigang Chen's 'Five Elements'—a piece based on the Chinese philosophy (Wu Xing) representing elements such as water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. Baeva will also debut on the Seoul stage with Shostakovich's Violin Concerto No.1, commemorating 50 years since the composer's death. The second part features Ravel's 'Valses Nobles et Sentimentales' and Debussy's 'La Mer,' embracing traditional and modern sounds. Tickets range from 10,000 to 100,000 KRW, with discounts available for website members.
