Two Solo Shows at Gallery Hyundai Explore 'Moon Mind' and Jeju Light

Two solo exhibitions open at Gallery Hyundai in Seoul. Korean-American artist Kim Christine Seon (Kim Kris-tin Seon) presents "Moon Mind," about language, family and identity using shaped canvases and references to American Sign Language (ASL)—for example, ASL gestures for "mind" inspired forms in her work. Her large black sphere pieces, like "Mind Strong," explore the mind’s resilience amid emotions. Separately, Korean painter Kim Bo-hee showcases "TOWARDS: There Was Light," a series of about 30 works reflecting decades observing Jeju’s gardens, sea, flowers and light. She uses traditional materials (hanji) with pigments and glue to build layered color and a sense of time. Both shows run through Oct. 18 at Gallery Hyundai.
