Unexpected Upsell: Package Tour Guide's Uncomfortable Proposal

A group of six sibling couples (12 people, average age over 60) took a package trip to Da Nang/Hoi An, Vietnam. Although they chose a “no-shopping” option, the guide later pressured them into paying for optional tours and local remedies, turning the final day into a series of paid activities that added about 1.3 million KRW per couple (and one family bought a 3 million KRW herbal set). The tour agency staff were absent at the airport, causing confusion with group check-in and baggage; the guide also promised souvenir photo hangers but later claimed the phones were formatted and failed to deliver.
