Yangju City Partners with Local Drone Firm to Build Smart Safety Inspection System

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province signed an agreement with Yangju Urban Corporation and BCD E&C to deploy drones for smart safety inspections of public facilities. The project will use locally developed drone technology to inspect hard-to-reach or wide-area structures from the air, quickly detecting cracks, damage, and other anomalies to improve efficiency and reduce onsite risks. The city will expand drone inspections in stages, create standard inspection procedures, and build a data-driven management system. Yangju will also use its Drone-Bot Talent Training Center (드론봇인재교육센터) as a hub to train drone specialists, support regional industry growth, and establish a public-sector model for sustainable drone operations.
