The revised Wiley Handbook of Art Therapy now includes a dedicated chapter on Korean art therapy, co-authored by Professors Im Seong-yun and Choi Sun-nam. The chapter highlights how Korean emotional concepts such as jeong (affection/relational bond) and han (deep sorrow or resentment) have shaped locally developed therapeutic practices rather than simply applying Western models. Im said the inclusion recognizes Korea's leading role in Asian art therapy. Separately, Seoul gallery news: Gallery Choi presents Yumi-ran’s solo show ‘Even If the Wind Passes, It Stays, Quiet Warm as Camellia’ featuring bamboo and modernized ink-bamboo paintings using gold and silver leaf (exhibition through Jan 26). Ji Gallery in Cheongdam hosts a three-person group show ‘Unseen Relations’ (through Feb 7) by artists Sun-yu, Heo Su-yeon, and Julia Kowalska exploring unseen everyday emotions and shifting relationships through mixed media and painting.
