Jipyeong Brewery has rapidly expanded makgeolli (Korean rice wine) exports, increasing its export destinations from 7 to 15 countries and reporting about a 540% rise in overseas sales year-on-year. The company is targeting markets including the U.S., Japan and Australia while entering new regions such as China, Taiwan, Canada, Mexico, Peru and Italy. Its main export products, ‘Jipyeong Fresh’ and ‘Jipyeong Dalbam’, are specially formulated to preserve the flavor of popular domestic varieties while surviving long distribution chains. Jipyeong credits product quality, domestic brand trust and growing global interest in K-culture and K-food for the surge, noting particular recognition among consumers aged 20–40 helped attract foreign buyers. The brewery plans to broaden flavored export lines to suit local tastes and increase market share in key countries next year.
