On April 14 at Suseong Artpia, celebrated Korean pianist Baek Kun-woo and Italy’s historic chamber ensemble I Musici will perform together for the first time, closing the venue’s 2025 luxury series. The program highlights Baek’s 69-year career and I Musici’s 73-year tradition, spanning Baroque to contemporary works. The concert features the Korean premiere of Polish composer Henryk Gorecki’s (헨리크 구레츠키) Piano Concerto, alongside Mozart’s Piano Concerto, Geminiani’s "La Folia," Bartók’s "Romanian Folk Dances," Shostakovich’s "Five Pieces," and Respighi’s "Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite No.3." Baek, known as a musical seeker who introduced unfamiliar works to Korea at a young age, will join I Musici—an ensemble famed since 1951 for elevating Vivaldi’s "The Four Seasons" and for its democratic, soloist-driven approach. Tickets range from 30,000 to 100,000 KRW; recommended for audiences from elementary school and up. (Suseong Artpia: a major cultural venue in Daegu)
