The Gangneung Danoje Committee will hold the 2025 'DandanDandan Festival' from June 27–29 at the Gangneung Danoje Transmission Education Center. High demand led to many sold-out advance tickets: Seo-do Band (known as the founder of 'Joseon Pop' and winner of JTBC's 'Pungnyu Daesang') sold out within 10 hours, and the Yeongsanhong concert (a local signature event) also sold out in two days. A new creative yeonhui play 'The Bride of Seonangdang, Becoming a Village Legend' is near sell-out. On the first day Seo-do Band will open with a powerful stage blending traditional Korean music and modern sensibilities. The second day features a morning traditional performance by local childcare centers and a evening staging of the regional collaborative yeonhui play (traditional Korean mask/drama-related performance). The final day closes with the Yeongsanhong concert featuring artists Poppin Hyun Joon, Park Ae-ri, Kim Da-ham trio, Han Sang-ah and contest winners. Festival side events include a photo exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage designation and audience prize events. Organizers hope many citizens and tourists will experience Gangneung's artistic appeal.
