Musinsa, a leading Korean fashion platform, has leased about 20 storefronts around Seoul Forest (Seoul neighborhood known for a large park) with roughly 10 billion won (about $7–8 million) in funding to build a fashion cluster. Some shops were bought outright. The leased spaces will be offered to Musinsa-affiliated brands at below-market rents to help them open offline stores despite high commercial rents, and to revive the relatively quiet Seoul Forest shopping district. Musinsa already operates multiple outlets in Seongdong-gu such as Musinsa Standard and Musinsa Store, and expects nearby brand stores to create synergy and support brands’ offline expansion.
