Images from Gimpo Airport show several travelers sitting on the floor in front of the duty-free pick-up area, unpacking and organizing bags of cosmetics, cigarettes and receipts. A Japanese tourist posted photos on social media, saying it looked like a flea market and suggesting some might be resellers (리셀, resellers) preparing goods for resale. The scene drew criticism for obstructing the corridor and disrupting public order. Duty-free items must remain sealed before departure; opening them can void tax exemption and may require paying taxes. Under Customs Law Article 270, using duty-free benefits for commercial resale can also be punished. The post quickly gained over 130,000 views and sparked debate online.
