Cheonan's annual '2025 Bread Day' opened at Cheonan Sports Complex, showcasing specialty breads from 51 neighborhood bakeries. The two-day festival (Oct 18–19) highlighted items like walnut cookies, rice crack salt bread, rice-bread hot dogs, green onion baguettes, chestnut pies, and pollock roe croissants, with many new rice-based products. About 3,000 people are expected to join eight hands-on workshops — up from six last year — including baked-doughnut classes and popular international bread-making experiences (e.g., French pain au levain and focaccia, Chinese mooncakes, Vietnamese banh mi). Local food companies participated with sampling events, and a display zone featured bakery art using regional specialties. The opening ceremony included live music, with a bread-themed concert and drone light show planned for the final evening. Cheonan officials described the festival as a collaborative showcase linking the baking industry, agriculture, businesses, and universities.
