The globally acclaimed work 'Life of Pi', which has been successful as a novel and film, is now set for its Korean stage debut on December 2 at GS Art Center. The cast of 27 actors, along with puppeteers, gathered for their first reading and rehearsal, pledging unity and collaboration. International director Lee Tony emphasized the integration of acting, movement, lighting, sound, and visuals to explore the world of the play, demonstrating how individuals can overcome life's challenges. Notably, this production marks the first time 'Life of Pi' is performed in a language other than its original. The story, based on Yann Martel's Booker Prize-winning novel, narrates the survival of a boy, Pi, and a Bengal tiger, Richard Parker, across 227 days at sea. This innovative stage adaptation, featuring dynamic puppeteering, has already won multiple Tony and Olivier Awards.
