Day Trip To Hanam: The Perfect Balance Of History And Nature
Come with us on our day trip outside of Seoul to the city of Hanam surrounded by nature
Do you ever want to get away from the busy streets of Seoul, just for the weekend?
There are so many beautiful cities just outside of Seoul where you can spend the day.
Come with us to Hanam, located in Gyeonggi-do, easily accessible by subway from Seoul.
It's a relatively new city that's surrounded by beautiful mountains, lakes, and parks as well as many popular attractions, delicious restaurants, and chic cafes.

It's also the first dog-friendly mall in Korea, so bring your beloved pets.

Bring your friends and family, especially if you have young children, you'll be here all day!
At Sports Monster, you can enjoy various sports such as basketball, trampoline, darts, and many more!
With so many things to do here, we can assume that it's very crowded on the weekends or holidays.

This park is used often by its residents, slightly similar to the Han River.
It's a very large park which makes it a perfect place to rent a bike with friends and get some exercise.
There's even a huge bike you can rent with your family or friends.
We decided to rent a regular bike and it was 4,000 won per hour.
You need an identification card when renting a bike. If you don't have a Korean ID, you can use your passport.
There is a canal that flows in the middle of the park where boat races are held.

There are plenty of shades thanks to all the trees that will protect you from the sun even in the summer.
As we rode our bikes, we were amazed by the beautiful views of the trees and the mountains.
We lost track of time and ended up riding our bikes for a few extra minutes but the staff were very kind and said we didn't need to pay extra.
After we returned our bikes it was time to head to the next location.

The museum is divided into 3 floors. The exhibits are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Most of its relics on display have been excavated from the Hanam area.
We were advised to visit the 3rd flor which is composed of artifacts from the prehistoric ages (선사실), ancient period (고대실), and the Goryeo period (고려실).
There were so many history exhibits to look at, we really liked this Buddha sculpture because it felt very comforting.
There were also replicas of houses during the Joseon Dynasty.
We think it looked like the set for the K-drama, Reply 1988 (응답하라 1988).
Everything was so interesting and we were immersed in Korean history all day.

House Plant is divided into 3 main areas, a furniture warehouse, the indoor seating area/cafe, and the outdoor seating area. You can feel free to check out all three.
This area is decorated with wooden furniture and comfortable couches. This type of furniture around the cafe enhances their rustic, vintage vibe.
Anyone in need of wooden interior items for their homes can check out this place! They seem to have the rustic design nailed down.
There is also an outdoor seating area and photo zones you can't miss.
Anyone who wants to take some artistic photos can take some awesome shots here.
There are a total of 5 cakes to choose from: carrot cake, sweet potato cake, apple cheesecake, earl gray chiffon cake, and chocolate mousse cake but they are a bit pricier than other cafes.
Everything looked so delicious that we took a long time to decide what we wanted to order.
We ended up ordering their specialties, Bomb Bee, Strawberry Latte, and sweet potato cake!
If you are planning on a quick day trip to cities outside of Seoul, we highly recommend the city of Hanam!
