Our Visit

Today, we've visited Yukjeon Sikdang branch No. 1 near Sinseol-dong Station. It is a famous BBQ restaurant among Koreans and has been featured on the famous Korean TV program Wednesday Food Talk!

We've spotted a Blue Ribbon Survey banner four years in a row! This place is as delicious as the hype suggests, with awards from various critics.

Also, keep in mind that branch No. 1 has a breaktime between 3 and 4 p.m..

The interior is clean with a retro vibe, and it's spacious for groups.

Yukjeon Sikdang offers unique menus at each branch. At branch no.1, you can enjoy exclusive dishes like Sinseoldong cold noodles, mixed noodles, and Sikhye shaved ice. They also serve special somaek and highballs made with their own recipes.

We've ordered Sinseoldong cold noodles, mixed noodles, and Sikhye shaved ice, exclusive to the branch no.1

.The Sinseoldong cold noodles was a perfect mix of cool broth and chewy noodles, not too salty and great with meat. The sour-sweet taste was delicious, especially when combined with the pepper pickles for extra flavor depth.

Next, we've tried the mixed noodles. They come with a tangy special sauce, generous toppings, and cold broth, making it a refreshing dish.

The dish had a variety of toppings, like egg strips, lettuce, red onion, meat, seaweed, cucumber, and a generous amount of meat. Mix it well with the sauce for a more delicious taste!

We've also tried Sikhye Bingsu. It's made with Sikhye ice for sweetness, topped with red beans, condensed milk, ice cream, and Injeolmi for a delicious blend.

If you show your Creatrip reservation by 2 PM, you can get a Sikhye Bingsu for free! We recommend visiting on time and enjoying this sweet treat!

Then we've moved onto branch no. 3, which is just a 5-minute walk from branch no. 1.

The branch no. 3 is notably larger, often resulting in shorter waits.

Branch No. 3 also has a retro and clean vibe like branch no. 1, featuring unique highlights like a highball making space and a charming photo spot. Each branch's distinct interior adds to Yukjeon Sikdang's charm.

There were also lots of autographs from celebrities. While waiting for your food, try spotting the signature of your favorite Korean star!

The side dishes came out first. The restaurant offered a variety of sauces for the meat—Andes salt, anchovy sauce, curry powder, chili sauce, and wasabi—with a helpful explanation on how to enjoy them best.

We've ordered 150g of pork neck for two people, along with kimchi stew and soybean paste stew. The combination of generous side dishes, fresh-looking meat, and warm stews seemed delicious!

We've also tried the unique Yeonghun Ball and Yeonghun Sunset Highball. The Yeonghun Ball, a mix of Suntory whisky and Jeju tangerine, offers a heavy yet clean taste, perfect with meat to cut through the grease. The Yeonghun Sunset Highball, with its beautiful sunset-like appearance, brings a sweet and refreshing taste of yuja lemon, ideal for a light drink. For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, the Singha Yuja Lemon Zero adds a fresh, fruity sparkle without the alcohol, offering a choice for every preference.

At Yukjeon Sikdang, staff grill the meat from start to finish, ensuring a comfortable dining experience. Once the grill reaches the ideal temperature, they'll cook the meat for you.

They also removed the hard-to-eat bone parts and cut it nicely for easy eating, which was convenient.

For the first bite of the deliciously cooked meat, they recommended dipping it in Andes salt. Eating the tender and thick pork neck with the high-quality and clean taste of Andes salt was really delicious!

You can also order fernbrake as a separate dish. The salty yet sweet fernbrake with the pork neck in one bite offered a different and delicious taste.

Next, we've tried pork jowl, known for its chewy texture. Dipped in curry powder and chili sauce, it offered a unique taste. We also recommend pairing it with the anchovy sauce!

The steamed egg is impressively fluffy and delicious as well!

The restaurant offers popular Korean dishes like kimchi stew and soybean paste stew. The kimchi stew has a spicy broth but is enjoyable even for those who don't handle spicy foods well. The soybean paste stew has a rich, savory taste that enhances the flavor of the meat.

We ordered fried rice with the restaurant's unique seasoning and added shredded cheese. The heart-shaped rice topped with shredded cheese was also great for photos!

At branch no. 3, you have the option to try buckwheat noodles, which come in three varieties: noodles with perilla oil, noodles in a cold broth, and spicy mixed noodles, providing diverse options for your taste.

We first tried the perilla oil noodles. The rich, nutty flavor of the perilla oil combined with the chewy noodles was absolutely delicious! Topped with meat and thinly sliced omelet, it was packed with a clean, savory flavor. Eating the perilla oil noodles with freshly made kimchi on the side made it even tastier.

Next up were the water noodles. The cute egg garnish added a special touch. With chewy noodles and a mix of meat, cucumber, and pear in a refreshing broth, the flavors were clean and diverse.

Finally, the spicy mixed noodles had a great combination of sweet and sour sauce with generous meat toppings. The special sweet and sour sauce perfectly complemented the meat, making it a delicious side dish to enjoy with the meal.

We've concluded our meal with the soft vanilla ice cream, with the addition of an espresso shot. With sweet coconut chips included, it was the perfect cool and sweet dessert to enjoy after the meal! By presenting your Creatrip reservation, you can also get 4 pieces of dumplings for reservations made until 3 p.m. If you're looking for a place to enjoy authentic Korean pork belly, we highly recommend Yukjeon Sikdang!
