Things to Keep In Mind

When making your reservation, please input which Daegu subway station or hotel you would like to be picked up. The tour will depart from that location.

The temple stays location will be either Donghwasa, Dorimsa, Eunhyesa, or Seonbonsa. 

This is a private tour that can be reserved on all weekdays, but certain dates may be closed due to being fully booked. 

If all temples are fully booked, you may have to change your tour dates or change the tour itinerary to a Buddhism Temple Tour. In this case, you will be contacted through email so please check your inbox regularly. 

If your tour itinerary is changed to a Buddhism Temple Tour, you will be staying at Noblestay Hotel. 

The temple stay provides 2 Temple food meals. 

Please reserve 1 week before your desired date.

This tour follows the Special Terms and Conditions for Domestic Travel. You can get a refund if you cancel 11 days before your booked date but will follow the refund policy accordingly after that. 

If there are less than 4 tour participants, the transportation vehicle will be a 5-passenger van. 

Included in the price are admission tickets, lunch(Korean), snacks(water and snacks), transportation, and a driver. 

Not included in the price are dinner, travel insurance, and other personal expenses. 

The temple stay room will be shared with other people and check-in times are fixed into the itinerary.

Please prepare personal towels, toiletries, and other personal amenities accordingly to the weather. 

The tour itinerary is subject to change depending on the traffic and weather conditions.

Otgol Village 옻골마을

The first location you will visit is Otgol Village. This is where the Gyeongju Choi's lived 200 years ago. The village is full of Daegu's oldest Hanoks and stone walls. If you want to take a peek at ancient Korean architecture, this place would interest you! 

Bulodong Ancient Tombs 불로동고분

Bulodong Ancient Tomb is believed to be a collective tomb of the ruling forces of the Three Kingdoms period in the 5th century. These tombs are preserved in the best conditions which is why they are often visited by tourists. 

The Temple stay part of the tour will be held at one of these 4 temples. You will be assigned one that is available on your booked tour dates. If all 4 temples are not available, you will be lodging at a hotel and the tour itinerary will have Buddhism-related attractions added.  Let's take a look at the temples shall we?

Donghwasa Temple 동화사

(Check-in at 14:30, Check-out at 12:00)

Donghwasa Temple was established in 832 in the Samguk Period when King Heungduk was under rule during the Shilla Dynasty. At Donghwasa temple, you can practice 'Complete Rest' with forest meditation, rest, reading, prayer, and taking walks around the temple. With these activities, you will surely get to de-stress from everyday life and find balance in your mind. 

Dorimsa Temple 도림사

(Check-in at 15:00, Check-out at 12:30)

'A Day in the mountains, a reflection of you and me, a reflection of us.' is Dorimsa Temple's motto. You will be able to reflect on yourself at this temple through various activities. The temple is located at the base of Daegu's most famous mountain, Palgong Mountain, which is a place Daegu citizens often visit for rest and peace. The temple is especially known for its beautiful sunsets.

Eunhaesa Temple 은해사

Eunhaesa Temple is named so because it resembles Buddha dancing among the silver reflection of the ocean paradise. With this impressive view, you can heal your exhausted mind and recharge with the various programs available at this temple stay. Meditate as you take around the temple and reflect on your past self. 

Seonbonsa Temple 선본사

Seonbonsa Temple is famous for its 'Palgongsan Rock Buddha'. Palgong Mountain is a mountain in Daegu that reaches 4 different districts in Gyeongsangbukso Province. The mountain is known for its impressive scenery and is still visited often by Koreans and foreign tourists. Let go of your worries, anxiety, and concerns whilst at this iconic mountain and reflect. 

Cheongdo Unmunsa 청도 운문사

On the second day, you will be visiting a temple built in 560 during the Samguk Period when King Jinheung was under the rule of the Shilla Dynasty. Unmunsa Temple is where the Hwarang Mind was first established. As it is a temple with a deep history, they also have the country's biggest Bhikkhuni program. This is the temple you'd want to visit if you want to dive deep into Buddhism.
