Founyard Bakeshop | Mangwon
Instagram Famous Cafe Where You Can Enjoy Amazing Crowaffle And Take Insta-Wothy Pictures!
Is there anyone who has been to the iconic ZAPANGI cafe in Mangwon? Recently, the ZAPANGI cafe has been disappeared, and the new cafe named 'Founyard' appeared instead.
I made my way to this social media-famous cafe to check out the major changes and spot the differences between the old ZAPANGI and the new Founyard cafe.
The vibrant color of mint is extremely eye-catching from miles away; you won't be able to miss it.
Since the cafe opens at 11:00 sharp, I have arrived at the cafe around 11:10, expecting to be the very first customer of the day. Once I have arrived, there were few customers already, taking pictures with their drinks and desserts that they have ordered earlier.
This display window is the famous photo spot at this cafe; locals visit here to take the iconic photos, which will look outstanding among countless photos on social media newsfeed.
The inside of the cafe was fairly spacious. Even though some of the stools and chairs weren't looking as comfortable, they were blended well with the vibe of the cafe. The mix and match between the color white and the beige wooden pattern gave a cozy and relaxing vibe.
The cafe also paid lots of attention on details, such as mirror frames on the table, artificial flowers, vase and so much more. I could spot lots of cute vintage-style props and supplies as their decorations.
Founyard's most famous dessert menu is their croffle/crowaffle, which is waffles made with croissant dough. This is one of the most trendy desserts in Korea at the moment, so I had to order one of those!
They were offering many different options for flavor, including plain, classic butter, cheddar cheese, cranberry almond and parsley garlic on the display board. You can also order crowaffle in their full-dessert mode, where they give you ice cream or whipping cream on top of the waffle.
Other than crowaffle, they had three options for their brownies as well! They were offering three options including cream cheese, raspberry & blueberry, and pistachio macadamia flavor. I honestly would like to visit once again for their brownies. The temptation was real!
I have ordered 'Season Fruit Crowaffle' and 'Plum Ade' for myself. After making the order, I waited patiently in the cafe, enjoying the cafe's cute supplies and decorations that they have worked on. The bunnies below were the cutest in my opinion. ๐ฐ
Once I received the dessert, I was surprised by the presentation! The seasonal fruit turned to be plum and blueberries at this moment (July 2020) that are decorated on top of the whipping cream. I ordered this for all by myself, and I thought it might be a bit too much for a single person; I would like to recommend sharing this type of crowaffle from Foundyard.
The first sip of the ade was refreshing with the taste of carbonated water and the home-made plum sauce. They definitely woke me up! There was a cherry on top of the ade as well. However, the amount of ade wasn't as satisfying.
The crowaffle was a bit too hard to cut into pieces with a fork and knife; however, they had the chewy texture which was unique compared to other crowaffle places. The first bite was delightful with the combination of the whipped cream and fresh fruits. The whipped cream wasn't as sweet, which went very well with fruits and even hid passion fruits below the layer.
Founyard in the morning was quiet and peaceful. If you would like to take Instagrammable pictures without the crowds, I definitely would like to recommend visiting in the morning, around their opening time.
Sharing is caring! Bring your friend or significant other to share the delicious crowaffle and drinks together.
