On the basement level of an old building awaits a little Jeju Island. RENDÉJÀ-VOUS has been the talk of the town and has over 10 branches all over Korea. Take a step in and you'll feel like you've stepped right into the warm coziness of Jeju.

Our Visit

Head on down to the basement of the building and you'll see the open entrance right away. Even before I reached the floor, I could get a pretty good peek of the overall vibe, which filled me up with anticipation!

We went at around 4pm and the place was almost packed with only two tables available. We quickly claimed a table and went over to the counter to order.

In the display case, you'll find samples of their signature drinks which are Rendeja-vous, Milk Tea, Grapefruit Juice, Passion Fruit Juice and Aurora Ade, all around 7,000 KRW. You'll also find their dessert samples displayed.

Our choices were Rendeja-vous, Jeju Green Tea Latte and Earl Grey Cake.

Rendeja-vous (7,000 KRW)

The signature menu item of all the drinks, Rendeja-vous is a bottled drink consisting of milk at the bottom finished off with a shot of espresso on top. Shake the bottle gently to mix the two layers. Then, pour the drink into the iced cup to enjoy the delicacy.

Jeju Green Tea Latte (6,500 KRW)

I decided to give a drink of Jeju origin a try. The aroma from the green tea mixed with milk makes this a smooth drink. I would definitely recommend green tea enthusiasts to try it.

Earl Grey Cake (6,800 KRW)

While it's soft and cloudy in texture, the overall taste of the cake was a bit disappointing. It was lacking a strong kick of the earl grey flavour. Rather, it tasted like a regular cake with cream, a not a very flavourful one that is.

The overall vibe of the place is nature's comfort in style. The corner with the long mirror is where most people take photos to share on their social media!

Walk 6 minutes from exit 8 or exit 7 of Hongik University Station.
