Gamcheon Culture Village
Gamcheon Culture Village has the nickname "Machu Picchu of Korea", and it was created when refugees from the northern provinces flocked to Busan during the Korean War in 1950. The unique landscape of colorful standalone houses clustered on a hill has appeared in a few music videos. The art sculptures and murals installed in the alleys have transformed Gamcheon into a vibrant village, and there are also various experiential workshops and souvenir shops. Lastly, don't miss the opportunity to capture a memory with the photogenic spot where the Little Prince and the Desert Fox overlook the village, which is a highlight of Gamcheon Culture Village!
Hwangridan-gil Road
Hwangridan-gil is a street where old buildings from the 1960s are preserved, allowing visitors to fully experience the nostalgia of the past. It features modernized hanok-style shops and restaurants. It is a gathering place for almost all of Gyeongju's food, where you can taste traditional Gyeongju cuisine. You can search for a cafe you've been wanting to visit, try knocking on the doors of restaurants that catch your eye, or get cute souvenirs to commemorate your trip to Gyeongju. Enjoy eating and drinking on Hwangridan-gil!
Daereungwon Tomb Complex
Daereungwon is a large burial site for kings, queens, and nobles of the Silla Dynasty and is a must-see cultural heritage site representing Gyeongju. Daereungwon is an attractive tourist destination, where cherry blossoms bloom in spring, pear trees grow in summer, autumn leaves fall in autumn, and snowflakes decorate the site in winter. Lastly, the photo zone with a magnolia tree standing among the burial mounds is a picturesque viewing point that should not be missed when visiting Daereungwon.
Cheomseongdae Observatory
Cheomseongdae is a national treasure and the 31st landmark in Gyeongju. It is an astronomical observatory built during the Silla Dynasty and is the oldest existing observatory in the world. In the spring, cherry blossoms bloom, in the summer, pear trees and sunflowers, in the autumn, pink mules, and in the winter, snow flowers bloom. Cheomseongdae showcases seasonal beauty all year round, making it even more attractive. There are various tourist attractions around Cheomseongdae, such as the Daereungwon Stone Wall Road and Donggung and Wolji, so take a walk and make some beautiful memories!
Woljeonggyo (Gyo-chon Village)
Woljeonggyo is a bridge built during the Unified Silla Dynasty. It was restored as the largest wooden bridge in Korea in April 2018, after being lost during the Joseon Dynasty. In spring, cherry blossoms surround Woljeonggyo, and the red and green colors of the bridge harmonize with the pink of the cherry blossoms. The reflection of Woljeonggyo in the river creates a magnificent scene that touches people's hearts from afar, as if it were a real and a decalcomania.
Cheongsapo
Cheongsapo maintains a picturesque village landscape and is a tourist attraction where you can see trains passing by against the backdrop of Haeundae Beach. It is also a popular spot for taking photos with the sea, train, and buildings in the background. Near Cheongsapo, there is the Haeundae Beach Train, a landmark of Haeundae, located on the Mipo Railroad. It is also attractive to walk along the railroad and trek while overlooking the sea from the adjacent railroad. As you walk along the railroad, you can see various landscapes such as the beach train, Dongbaek Island, Gwangan Bridge, and the Cheongsapo lighthouse observatory.
