One of the major things locals and tourists do in Busan is visiting its major beaches that are all unique and colourful in their own way.

The exciting beach party scenes of Haeundae and looking over at the sparkly Gwangan Bridge at Gwangalli Beach both guarantee great Busan experiences, but if you want something a bit more local-focused and calm, Songdo Beach may be just the place for you.

Songdo Beach, around 800m long and 50m wide, ranks the third most-visited beach in the city of Busan after Haeundae and Gwangalli.

The photo above shows the stunning skywalk where you'll get to walk over the waters while looking over at the tiny island named Geobukseom (거북섬).

Alongside the beach, you'll find an array of restaurants and cafes with magnificent ocean views.

In this blog, we'll list the key things you should do at Songdo Beach.

A restaurant in Busan looks out to the Songdo Beach ocean

There is an array of seafood restaurants along the coast. We tried out Donghaehoesjib because it had the best online reviews among locals.

We grabbed a nice table with an ocean view!

This was what we got for two people for just 20,000 won. Unbelievable!

Naengmyeon Mulhoe, or raw fish cold noodles with side dishes in the back

Naeongmyeon is the widely popular cold noodle dish and mulhoe refers to cold raw fish served in soup.

The two combined together is naengmyeon mulhoe, which makes the best summer dish to cool down with fresh seafood.

The cod fish soup is ultimate comfort food that's healthy and deep in flavour.

Songdo Beach and the ocean seen through tall trees

Reaching the suspension bridge on the cable car has to be the highlight of a day around Songdo Beach.

Unfortunately on our visit, the cable car was closed so we took the taxi up to the bridge from the beach.

Taking a taxi is a much cheaper option, but we still recommend taking the cable car for the exciting experience.

Songdo Yonggung Suspension Bridge, overlooking the blue shoreline, offers one of the best views of the ocean.

Plus, you can get really close to the waters this way!

Getting To Songdo Beach From Busan Station

Large Texas Street sign at Busan Station

When you get out to the plaza of Busan Station, cross the street towards Texas Street.

You'll find two bus stops.

To get to Songdo Beach, you can take buses 26, 61 and 134 (the longest route).

Check both the boards to see which buses stop at which stop.

We decided to take bus 61!

After about 10 stops and 15 minutes, get off at Songdo Yipgu (송도입구).

You'll see 7th Street Pizza right at the bus stop.

Find the brown sign that points towards Songdo Beach.

Crossing the bridge towards Songdo Beach

Cross the first pedestrian bridge and exit towards the left.

You'll see the stairway that leads down with an orange building in the back.

Walk along the path until you see the beach ahead!

Getting Back To A Subway Station

Bus Stop near Yonggung Suspension Bridge

From the suspension bridge, we walked downhill for about 2 minutes and reached this bus stop.

Bus stop at Amnam Park is numbered 173.

From here we took bus #7 which will take you to Chungmudong Gyocharo (Jagalchi Station).

Take the subway from there to reach Busan Station or your next destination!
