Seongsu & Konkuk University Guide
1. Go to a Cafe
First, you can start your day at a cafe. There are lots of popular and unique cafes in Seongsu to check out, but here are some of our favorites! Keep in mind that most cafes in Korea don't open until 11:00 or 12:00.
Daelim Changgo
Daelim Changgo once was an abandoned warehouse that has turned into one of the most popular cafes in Seongsu! It's known for its huge interior, which is reminiscent of the warehouse it once was, as well as the plentiful seating and beautiful artworks and plants on display.
Another reason for its popularity is the delicious pastries and drinks available. There is a huge variety of pastries and desserts to choose from, and the drinks are great as well.
For more information and our full review of Daelim Changgo, check out our blog in the link below!

Scène
We also recommend Scène, which is known for having this iconic white building with big windows. It's very eye-catching and already popular among cafe fanatics in Korea!
It's a two-story building, so there are plenty of seats, and you can even enjoy your desserts on the terrace.
The cafe is also used as a space for many pop-up stores, such as the LE SSERAFIM pop-up event and BLACKPINK Jennie's Calvin Klein capsule collection launch. It's definitely one of the most popular cafes in Seongsu!

2. Visit Pop-up Stores
Seongsu has become a hub for pop-up stores this year. If you spend a day in Seongsu, you're bound to come across multiple pop-up stores just by walking around! Here are some notable pop-up stores that we've visited this year. Keep in mind that most of these are no longer available, but there will always be new ones to check out!
Won Soju Pop-up
Jay Park's soju brand Won Soju had a pop-up collaboration with GS25 at this special GS25 location called Door to Seongsu to promote the launch of the new WONSOJU TO GO, which is a cute little pouch of soju!
Everything was decorated in a refreshing blue summer theme, with plants and beach chairs set up. It was great for photo ops!
They also had the WONSOJU TO GO packets for sale, along with flavored ice cups to make mixed drinks with. It came with a free mixing spoon with the Won Soju logo!
NCT Ccomaz Pop-up
This NCT Ccomaz Grocery Store pop-up was so cute! It was set up in a grocery store design with all kinds of colorful decorations.
They even had drinks and popcorn for sale at the food shop, which were delicious and a perfect way to recharge after looking around the pop-up store.
There were also t-shirts designed by the NCT members themselves available for sale!
Milkis Cinnamoroll Goorm House Pop-up
This Milkis Goorm House pop-up was beyond adorable. Blue decorations featuring fluffy clouds and the adorable Cinnamoroll were everywhere!
Even the drinks and desserts were super cute and aesthetically pleasing!
Oreo Pop-up
This Oreo pop-up was in celebration of Oreo's 111th anniversary! It was quite popular, so we did have to put in our phone number and wait our turn.
Upon entrance, a complimentary packet of Oreos are given and a pamphlet including a map of the space is provided. As you explore the pop-up, the staff with give you a stamp at 4 different zones if you accomplish a challenge, and if you get all 4 stamps, you get another free box of Oreos!
There were so many fun game zones, activities, and photo spots to check out!
SM KWANGYA@SEOUL
This SM KWANGYA location in Seongsu is a must for SM fans! This is not a pop-up but a fixed location, and every so often there are events and mini pop-ups for different SM artists!
You can also get albums from different SM artists like EXO, NCT, aespa, and more! Click the link below to see more pop-ups we visited this month in Seongsu!

4. Have Dinner
By now, you must be hungry. It's time to have a delicious meal for dinner! Here are a few suggestions we have for dinner in the Seongsu area.
Sungsu Darak
One of Seongsu's most popular restaurants at the moment is Sungsu Darak, which has Japanese-inspired western food.
The interior is super clean and neat, and there's even a photo zone on the rooftop terrace.
Their most popular menu items are the Darak Omurice (15,000 KRW) and the Spicy Cream Pasta (17,000 KRW), which are both pictured above. Check out our full review in the link below!

Zesty Saloon
Next, we recommend Zesty Saloon, which is an absolute favorite in Seongsu among the locals to get Korean-style handmade burgers.
You may not think of getting hamburgers while in Korea, but Zesty Saloon creates their own unique recipes, so it's worth a try! Plus, the interior is unique.
When we visited we tried the Chipotle Chili Burger (10,300 KRW) and the Wasabi Shrimp Burger (11,300 KRW). They were very thick, juicy, and delicious!

Sommunnan Seongsu Gamjatang
If you want a more traditional Korean meal, there's no better place to go than Seongsu's most famous pork bone stew restaurant, Sommunnan Seongsu Gamjatang.
Gamjatang, or pork bone stew, is a spicy stew made by boiling pork backbone over a long period of time. It is a bit spicy, but the deep flavor of the broth and the tender pork meat sliding off the bone is amazing. For more food recommendations, check out our blog below!

5. Pick Up Dessert
You might not feel ready to leave Seongsu yet, so you can head to another cafe or grab a cookie from this famous cookie shop!
All The Ugly Cookie
All The Ugly Cookie is known for having huge cookies with unique flavors. Most people take the cookies to-go, but there are also a couple little tables outside to sit at if you'd like to eat it there!
The shop is designed in a French style, with pastel greens and pinks decorating the interior. All the cookies are laid out for customers to see and choose!
We tried the Yakgwa Excellent Cookie, which is one of their most popular menu items. It has a seed hotteok filling paired with a chewy rice cake and a traditional Korean yakgwa cookie on top! It was sweet, chewy, and delicious!
