These days, Seongsu has been the place to go when it comes to the latest restaurants, cafes, and pop-ups! We made a visit to one of the most popular restaurants in Seongsu, called Sungsu Darak, which also has locations in Gangnam and Euljiro (called Eulji Darak). Sungsu Darak has been all over social media and is especially known for the Omurice and Spicy Cream Pasta. Let's check it out together! Our Visit
The entrance to Sungsu Darak is very unique. It has a big wooden double door at the front, but don't be fooled, that's not actually the entrance!
This small white door on the side is the entrance! The door is quite small, so be careful on your way in. It felt like we were going in through a secret entrance!
The interior is very clean and has a theme of white and nude tones. There is a lot of seating and multiple floors as well!
The menu is only available in Korean, but you can check the table above for the English translation! Some popular dishes at Sungsu Darak include the Omurice, Spicy Cream Pasta, Darak Rose, and the Katsu Sando. You can also order a variety of drinks here!
Darak Omurice (15,000 KRW)
We ordered the famous Darak Omurice, which comes with fried rice surrounded by a savory sauce. It comes as pictured above, and then the server will allow you to take some photos before cutting the egg open. It's so satisfying to see the fluffy, gooey egg cover the rice!
Spicy Cream Pasta (17,000 KRW)
We also ordered the Spicy Cream Pasta! It comes topped with an egg yolk and lots of shrimp.
The pasta was really flavorful and creamy but not too heavy, with the perfect amount of spice!
These dishes were both absolutely delicious and went really well together! We could see why it's so popular on social media. If you're heading to Seongsu, we highly recommend Sungsu Darak!
