Our Visit

Today, I visited Kotton Seoul located in Insadong. The ivory-toned exterior between the traditional Korean houses was quite charming.

The menu is prepared in English, which makes it convenient for foreigners to read. Don't worry if you're not sure what some of the items are, as there are photos of the menu items on the pad, so you can simply look and order.

Freshly baked cookies and scones, still warm from the oven, add a delightful aroma to the atmosphere of the cafe.

The CEO of Kotton Seoul Co. has been in the industry for over 10 years and runs his own factory in the outskirts of Seoul to roast the freshest beans. His passion for coffee is well-reflected on the various merchandise as well as his masterpiece, Tarae In Spanner. He also mentioned that they are currently working on new products such as coffee capsules to accommodate customers who eventually have to go back to their home country but would like to bring a flavour of their coffee back.

On a sunny day, it would be nice to sit outside and enjoy the food. There are three yellow lights that softly illuminate the space, emphasizing the traditional ambiance of the cafe.

Kotton Seoul has an advantage of having a restroom inside the cafe, which makes it easy and comfortable to use.

The glass windows and doors proudly present the interior of the very modern cafe, interestingly mingled well in the body of a traditional hanok architecture.

Kotton Seoul with the wooden elements from the hanok along with the furniture of black hues laid out against the white walls provide a comfortable atmosphere. The transparent reflections from the glass windows give it lots of dimensions as well. The Insadong branch opened in December 2019, but has been trending on social media platforms since its beginning. Naturally, we knew the frequently mentioned Tarae In Spanneer was a must-try.

The interior of the Hanok-style cafe is filled with dark wood tables and benches. As the sun sets, the lighting becomes brighter, creating an Instagram-worthy atmosphere that young friends will love.

Inside the store, there are cushions available so you can sit comfortably even if the chairs are cold.

Also, water is provided and the turtle-shaped rock is well-suited with the hanok, creating a nice atmosphere.

Tarae In Spanner \7,500

This delicate mix of americano, cream and peanut finished off with a traditional sil-tarae (dragon's beard candy) on top was simply amazing.

Scoop up the sil-tarae and eat it first. Then, try the cream and coffee separately. Finally, mix them together and enjoy a cup of this premium coffee perfectly smooth in texture and taste.

Recently, they have added scones and cookies to their menu, and the owner bakes them from scratch, so if you're lucky, you can taste freshly baked, warm cookies.

Kotton Seoul's signature menu items are truly unique and set them apart from other cafes. Their espresso and cream combinations are especially noteworthy, as the bitterness of the espresso and the sweetness of the cream come together in a smooth and creamy blend that coats the mouth. Visit Kotton Seoul's today and use the Creatrip discount coupon to indulge in their signature menu items and homemade desserts!
