When we got out of our parked car, the first thing we said was, 'Wow!' The grandness of the building charmed us instantly. Before going inside, we walked around the yard with fountains and couches in blue and yellow.
The yellow and blue couches added nice pops of colours to the otherwise grey, concrete surroundings. The first impression, it felt more like a gallery than a cafe. We decided to walk inside and see what was waiting for us.
Right when you walk in, you'll see the pastry display case in the middle and a counter on the left.
Paju's Heyri Art Valley gets crowded on weekends with Seoulites visiting to spend a weekend away from the city and the cafe really maximized seating well by putting couches and cushions on stairs.
The cafe features different colour elements in different spaces. For example, the outdoor patio on the second floor had a Halloween-like theme of bright orange and black.
The same seatings on the stairs are applied to the stairs that lead from the second to the third floor.
The first thing I saw on the third floor was the big table that could easily accommodate 12 people on the right. On one side of the wall featured art pieces and the other two sides boasted magnificent views.
Watching the hanok view out the window in a modern atmosphere was an amazing old-meets-new experience.
On the other side of the room were lines of tables and chairs complementing the art exhibition. We could find the door that leads to the outdoor patio at the end of the room.
The large patios seemed perfect for a relaxed coffee and desserts day with friends and family.
The outdoor patios had bean bags of different colours to provide different levels of comfort for their many visitors while adding great touches of colour to the design.
