Our Visit

Today, I visited Focal Point, just a 5-minute walk from Seoul Station. With its eye-catching blue exterior, this café is known for its homemade pies and has even earned a Blue Ribbon award. Their pies are made with rich, high-quality Isigny AOP unsalted butter, giving them a deep, buttery flavor.

As soon as I entered the cafe, the various pies caught my eye. Their signature menu items include the Chungju apple pie, Seoul bulgogi pie, and the new low-sugar Chungju apple pie. Everything looked so delicious!

I couldn’t capture everything in the photo, but Focal Point offers a variety of pies and baked goods—croissants, sandwiches, cookies, and more, with over 40 options in total. They have a strict same-day production and sales policy, ensuring everything is fresh. With so many unique flavors, from classic to creative combinations, it was hard to pick just one!

I ordered a total of seven homemade pies, including signature options like Seoul Bulgogi Pie, Chungju Apple Pie, and the new Low-Sugar Chungju Apple Pie. For a savory meal, I went with the Napoli Tomato Eggplant Pie and Valencia Shrimp Avocado Pie, while for dessert, I chose the Shine Muscat Yogurt Pie and Strawberry Matcha Pie.

You can place your order at the counter on the 1st floor, or you can use the kiosks on each floor. The kiosks are available in both English and Japanese, so you don't have to worry about language barriers!

In addition to coffee and beverages, various alcoholic drinks are also available.

Chungju Apple Pie

First, I tried the Chungju apple pie. Crispy pastry on the outside is filled with sweet apple jam inside. Personally, I like cinnamon, and the subtle cinnamon scent was really perfect. The multi-layered flaky pastry was captivating.

Low-Sugar Chungju Apple Pie

I also tasted the healthy low-sugar Chungju apple pie. The sweetness was reduced but it was still as delicious as the original Chungju apple pie.

Seoul Bulgogi Pie

The Seoul Bulgogi pie, which was one of the pies I was most looking forward to, was really delicious. There was no way it could taste bad because it was a combination of sweet and savory bulgogi sauce with cheese.

Napoli Tomato Eggplant Pie & Valencia Shrimp Avocado Pie

Next, I had Napoli tomato eggplant pie and Valencia shrimp avocado pie.

The Napoli tomato eggplant pie was a combination of sweet and tangy Modena balsamic sauce and the savory basil pesto on top of the creamy cheese filling. The roasted eggplant and tomatoes on top were also delicious, and the crispy texture of the croissant complemented it perfectly.

The Valencia shrimp avocado pie had a rich, spicy kick with cayenne-seasoned shrimp and creamy guacamole over a chipotle-filled base. The shrimp were plump and flavorful, and the crispy croissant crust made it even better.

Strawberry Matcha Pie

The strawberry matcha pie that stands out visually is a seasonal menu item. The combination of strawberry, fresh cream, and matcha cream was really the best. It wasn't heavy at all!

Shine Muscat Yogurt Pie

Next, I also tasted the Shine Muscat yogurt pie. Maybe it was the whipped cream and yogurt cream on top, but the refreshing flavor made it hard to stop eating.

California Cream Latte

If you thought Focal Point was all about pies, think again. They also have a great selection of drinks and amazing coffee. One of the highlights is the California Cream Latte—a signature blend of condensed milk, espresso, and rich California pistachio cream. The nutty, creamy flavor was absolutely delicious!

Americano

The Americano, made with Match Point beans, paired perfectly with any pie. It had a rich, smooth taste with notes of chocolate and brown sugar, using beans from Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Kenya. Plus, with a Creatrip coupon, you can get a free Americano when you order a pie, so it’s definitely worth a visit!

Next, let’s take a look inside. The café has three floors, each with a different atmosphere. On the first floor, you can place your order and find some seating. There’s also a luggage storage service for customers. The second and third floors are spacious, making them perfect for groups.

One of Focal Point's highlights is its outdoor terrace and rooftop. On a nice day, it’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy your pie and coffee.

It’s great during the day, but the evening vibe is just as nice. Plus, with Seoul Station right across, it’s easy to get to.

Focal Point isn’t just about great pies. There’s a photo booth at the entrance and a variety of branded goods, including a cozy zip-up hoodie—perfect for winter. Their Blue Ribbon-certified handmade pies are baked fresh daily, with over 30 options made from premium Isigny butter. If you're in Korea, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

How to Get There
