I recently visited 'u.itda' in Sinsa-dong, a salon known for its celebrity clients and custom-designed hair extensions. Located near Sinsa Station, it's easy to access and surrounded by great shopping and entertainment options.
As you enter the store, you'll find a clean, open space with a welcoming reception area. I showed my Creatrip reservation details to the staff at the reception.
The interior is bright and clean, with a white design and plenty of green plants. The salon focuses on personalized 1:1 services, so there aren't many seats, ensuring an exclusive experience.
There's an adorable Pomeranian inside the salon! The dog is very quiet and well-behaved, so you won't have to worry about barking. However, if you're uncomfortable around dogs, just let the staff know, and they'll make sure to keep the dog separate from the styling area.
There's also a private room where you can enjoy your hair treatment in a more secluded setting. Both the main area and the private room are spacious, ensuring a comfortable experience no matter where you choose to get your procedure.
At 'u.itda' guests are offered a complimentary drink, with a choice between coffee and green tea. I opted for an iced coffee!
Today, I will be getting the "medium-length hair extension". This package includes 100 pieces, but if you want more volume, there will be an additional charge on-site. If you have curly hair, it's recommended to get it straightened beforehand. Alternatively, you can opt for a straightening treatment at the salon for 100,000 KRW (plus VAT, with a 10% surcharge for card payments).
Today, I decided to go for the 20-inch extension and paid the additional fee. Since my hair is already long, 100 pieces were enough to achieve the look I wanted.
The hairstylist checked my hair on-site and brought extensions that matched my hair color perfectly. If you have black or natural brown hair, there’s no additional charge. However, please note that there may be an extra fee if you have blonde hair.
At 'u.itda' a wide range of natural brown, black, and bleached hair options are available. With so many choices, they can provide a service that perfectly matches your needs. They use top-quality, natural S-grade hair that’s gentle on your hair and can last up to 2 years. You can even retouch it 3 to 6 times!
What I really love about 'u.itda' is that they don’t follow a factory-style approach. Instead, each customer gets a dedicated stylist who provides a customized design. A professional hairstylist uses premium hair and hair bands to apply the extensions with their expert "slim braiding" technique.
Before starting the hair extension process, we first did a design cut optimized for extensions. Even without thinning out too much, the stylist was able to achieve a natural look in the desired style. Basic design cuts, like thinning and length adjustment, are included in the package. All the staff are former hair designers, so their cutting skills are top-notch!
We started the hair extension process from the lower part of the back of my head. About five extensions were applied in each section. The stylist quickly and skillfully used the slim braiding technique by hand, without any tools.
The stylist's technique is so skilled that the process feels incredibly comfortable—almost like nothing is happening. Plus, since no machines or silicone tips are used, there's no uncomfortable pulling or tension on the scalp.
The back and lower sections were completed quickly. Already, the extensions blend seamlessly and look natural! Now, we'll move on to the sides and the top of the hair.
I could see the stylist carefully and evenly braiding the extensions with the slim braiding technique. The braids were done at just 1mm, even finer than a thin comb! This level of precision really shows the expertise of the stylist.
When an inexperienced stylist handles hair extensions, they might use too much hair, leading to issues like a bulky look or scalp discomfort. However, at 'u.itda' I didn't experience any of those problems. This salon clearly stands out with its extensive experience and unique expertise.
The hair extension process was finished faster than I expected! No matter if you look from the front, back, or side, the extensions blend in seamlessly and look completely natural—I'm really satisfied! The quality of the hair used is excellent, making my hair look incredibly healthy and smooth.
I loved the results so much that I took some photos right away! The straight hair looks amazing, and I can't wait to see how stunning it will be once it's fully styled.
Before styling, we did a final trim and touch-up on the hair. The stylist carefully cut and shaped it to look as natural as possible.
Finally, we finished with a wavy perm styling. With the added length, the waves turned out beautifully. The stylist, being a former professional hair designer, perfectly customized the styling to suit me individually.
I wanted to switch up my hairstyle, and I'm absolutely thrilled with the results! The blend between my natural hair and the extensions is so seamless that it looks completely natural.
